GE evolves LED outdoor area lighting with 3 new matching fixtures

EAST CLEVELAND, OHIO — Property owners who want to upgrade their outdoor lighting now have an inside track to more energy-efficient lighting technology with the GE Evolve™ LED N Series fixtures. The new LED area lights, flood lights and wall packs make it easier to optimize space for visibility, security and operational savings while creating a consistent and contemporary look.

Traditional outdoor area lights such as high-pressure sodium (HPS) fixtures tend to stress function over form and are largely inefficient at putting light only where it is needed compared to new LED lighting options. In addition, the orange color of HPS light can give an appearance of dirty site aesthetics. While this practical approach to outside illumination has sufficed for many years, LED lighting offers a better—and better looking—solution. The clean white light of the new Evolve LED outdoor lighting fixtures can fully and uniformly light a property while providing energy efficiency.

Utilizing high brightness LEDs at 4000K and 5000K and ranging from approximately 50W-150W, the N Series fixtures are the result of GE ecomaginationSM  and represent the next generation of GE’s award-winning line of Evolve LED outdoor lighting fixtures. Smaller in form to previous Evolve offerings, the new area lights offer a lightweight solution combined with simplified mounting features enabling a fast and easy installation. With the long rated life on the Evolve N Series, each fixture provides significant operating cost benefits, virtually eliminating ongoing maintenance expenses.

Area Light

The Evolve™ LED N Series Area Light has different mounting options for square and round poles as well as dimming and occupancy sensing capabilities.

The Evolve N Series of area lights and wall packs also deliver superior site uniformity and vertical light distribution compared to HID systems. With the N Series of luminaires, a customer can not only replace existing technology with a lower wattage solution, but can greatly improve photometric performance with enhanced uniformity, and improved visibility through vertical light distribution. Because LED systems are able to focus light where it is needed, lower lumen output is necessary and, in some cases a customer would be able to reduce the number of luminaires required on a pole or even remove poles from their lot, further stressing the importance of application analysis vs. 1:1 product replacement. The GE Evolve family of luminaires offers a wide selection of optical distributions which make it easy to maximize your site layouts and truly obtain a maximum return on your investment. In addition, the Evolve brand of optical reflector technology utilizes the reflectance of the light to distribute effectively with minimal glare to the viewer's eyes by not exposing the LED light source.

The fixture's durable die-cast aluminum housing can easily be painted a standard color of black or bronze or customized to any RAL, making it a cinch to match the look of parking lots, building fa çades, walkways and other areas where lights are installed.

Target applications and additional features of the GE Evolve LED N Series outdoor fixtures include:

Evolve LED N Series Area Light: For site, area and general lighting applications; different mounting options for square and round poles; dimmable with optional occupancy sensing capability.
