Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, Ga., the state's first new hospital in 20 years, is designed for sustainability, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.
The recently completed $123 million facility is on track to reach LEED Gold Healthcare certification.
By conducting interactive workshops with health care system stakeholders and an estimated 1,000 community members, the architects determined the ideal patient experience, and planned spaces, efficiencies and building operations to fulfill that objective, according to the article.
Vignettes helped stakeholders visualize and experience the architecture, and make modifications before construction began.
