HMI Cardinal Announces Acquisition of Woon-Tech

HMI Cardinal, the largest domestic manufacturer of custom glass shower enclosures and a key supplier of commercial glazing solutions and artisan glass, has announced the acquisition of Woon-Tech of Whitinsville, Massachusetts.

Woon-Tech, also known as Woonsocket Glass Fabricators, is a leading manufacturer of glass shower enclosures in New England. The company is also a nationally recognized fabricator of other specialty glass products including glass entrances, mirrors, and full-color digitally printed glass.

With the addition of Woon-Tech, HMI Cardinal expands its shower glass manufacturing capabilities outside of its Louisville, KY headquarters, allowing it to better serve its well-established national customer base.  In addition, this acquisition also extends the company’s already-significant specialty glass fabrication capabilities through Woon-Tech’s digital ceramic in-glass printing, back painting, glass lamination, and specialty mirror manufacturing.

“Woon-Tech has a talented team with extraordinary specialty glass fabricating capabilities that clearly complement Cardinal’s own facilities and skillsets,” said Chris FitzGerald, CEO of HMI Cardinal. “Together, Cardinal and Woon-Tech are positioned to more effectively serve our combined national customer base with industry-leading glass fabrication and glass technology capabilities.  In addition, both companies will be even better equipped to support their traditions of high-quality products, short lead times, and excellent customer service.”

As a new subsidiary of HMI Cardinal, Woon-Tech will retain its new manufacturing facility in Whitinsville, MA, as well as the management team and employees under the leadership of current President Chip Rogers.  Cardinal and Woon-Tech will each continue to serve their respective customer bases with the same high quality and delivery standards for which they are both recognized.
