Hawaiian healthcare system shifting facility to skilled nursing

$80 million redevelopment includes rehabilitation clinic and aging, memory, and brain health services

St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii recently completed the first phase of an $80 million redevelopment of its Liliha property into a skilled nursing facility and senior living campus, according to an article on the Pacific Business News website.

The renovated space will provide nursing care or rehabilitation for hospital-discharged patients before they return home.

The top three floors cover 50,000 square feet and have 119 beds, 70 percent of which are private rooms. The renovations kept oxygen and gas machines in each room, which is specific to skilled nursing facilities.

A rehabilitation clinic will cover half of the second floor to complement the skilled nursing facility upstairs. A total of 5,000 square feet in the lobby will be used for dementia, stroke, and Alzheimer's outpatient services.
