Southwest Florida’s medical real estate sector is starting to expand as the caution caused by the Affordable Care Act is abating, according to an article on the News-Press website.

“Medical has really picked up,” according to Mark Stevens of Stevens Construction in Fort Myers. “We’ve seen a very substantial increase in the interest in both new construction and remodeling.”

“It’s the perfect storm,” commercial real estate broker Mark Alexander said in the article. “The underlying demand for growth of medical care. Plus, Obamacare is expected to add millions to the rolls of the medically insured. And finally, the baby boomers: 18 million people will hit 65 over the next 10 years."
