Health system expects big returns on Nevada microhospital investment

Smaller facilities meet demands of underserved communities In Las Vegas

Dignity Health expects big returns on its microhospital investment in Nevada as facilities meet demands of underserved communities in Las Vegas, according to an article on the Healthcare Finance website.

Four microhospitals have already opened and Dignity is developing a fifth site that is expected to open in 2019.

The system's first micro was built in Phoenix. Another facility has been built in Mesa.

The geographies that really work best for this are ones where there's a fairly robust network of assets in place with physicians, ambulatory assets and acute settings. This fits within a value-based model and answers a community's unmet needs, the article said.
