For instance, Universal Health Services, one of the largest providers of healthcare, announced that it experienced a cybersecurity incident. The company recently announced progress in restoring its systems

The cybersecurity industry is working to address these changing issues. But, cybersecurity is a constant race.

However, with the rapidly growing dependence on healthcare technology and virtual platforms, cybersecurity threats will only continue to increase. 

There has been a significant increase in ransomware attempts against organizations responding to the pandemic, according to an article on the Built in website.

The pandemic pushed hospital staff that were able to work remotely — departments like vendor support and administration — into the home office. Healthcare cybersecurity experts usually urge keeping as much activity inside the firewall of the facility as possible.
