Healthcare Design magazine honors Firm of the Year

Perkins+Will work with the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital attention for its waterfront facility with endless daylighting, resilient and green features and integration with the community

By Healthcare Facilities Today

Healthcare Design magazine recently named the winners of the second annual 'The HCD 10' competition. According to the magazine, the awards honor "an elite group of design and architecture professionals who represent the most exciting, inspirational, and influential healthcare work of the previous year."

Nominated by their peers, the winners were selected by the magazine editors from dozens of submissions in 10 categories.

Perkins+Will was honored as Firm of the Year.

The firm counts among its clients the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (Palo Alto, Calif.), New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Gundersen Health System (La Crosse, Wis.), Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore), the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (Santa Monica, Calif.), and the Mayo Clinic Hospital (Jacksonville, Fla.), according to the article.

The firm won multiple awards this year for its recent work, from a variety of sources. Its Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital (Boston) attracted a lot of attention for its beautiful waterfront facility with endless daylighting, smart resilient and green features, and clever integration with the community around it. Spaulding was honored with, among other accolades, awards from the Boston Society of Architects and the Boston Preservation Alliance, the article said.
