Healthcare facilities striving for on-demand access

Health systems reposition themselves with convenient care centers, virtual venues

Health systems are striving for on-demand access by repositioning themselves with convenient care centers and virtual venues, according to an article on the Hospitals and Health Networks website.

For instance, Houston's Memorial Hermann is adding new types of facilities in high-traffic locations that can make it as easy to choose memorial system as it is a nearby freestanding urgent care center or emergency department, the article said.

The Providence system will open 50 Express Care clinics by mid-2017. Twenty-five of these will be embedded in Walgreens stores in three of the system's large markets.

Virtual venues on the other hand can include e-visits, video visits or an inbound/outbound call center.
