Federal agencies have urged healthcare facilities to review and test their emergency response plans following recent terror attacks across Paris, according to an article on the Hospitals & Health Networks website.
Health & Human Services sent out a notice from the Department of Homeland Security to the healthcare and public health community.
The notice suggested stressing that employees are best positioned to enforce emergency plans if they are familiar with the surroundings; are attentive to unusual behavior.
Facilities were urged to review active shooter, suspicious activity reporting and counter improvised explosive device, or IED, preparedness.
