Healthcare facility expands before construction ends

Wisconsin project adds four floors and meets original deadline

The new Center for Advanced Care on the Wauwatosa academic medical campus of Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin expended from before construction ended, according to an article on the FacilitiesNet website.

When new projections showed growth in demand for services would exceed the original estimates, the project went from four to eight floors and met its original deadline.

To keep the project on track, facility staff worked side-by-side with other members of the building team.

Another key to the success of the project was the use of a building information model (BIM) that it enabled the project team to prefabricate things such as ductwork, medical gases, and headwalls.
