One registered nurse working at the hospital said she walked 15 minutes to and from where she parked each day.
Parking rates have increased from $13.80 for one day for visitors to $14.20.
Queensland Nurses Union secretary Beth Mohle said a complaint had been made to their office regarding the parking at SCUPH. "We are aware there's an issue there," she said. "Our view is (parking) needs to be free or affordable and it needs to be safe."
Mohle said some other facilities provided shuttle buses for workers' safety.
