Hospital Targets Healthier Foods for Staff, Patients

Meal prep service helps people enjoy a stress-free, healthy meal at their convenience


Hospitals and other healthcare facilities nationwide are rethinking nearly every aspect of their operations as they assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the operations that is seeing the greatest level of innovation is food service, where organizations are seeking both additional revenue and healthier, more appealing offerings.

For example, inside the kitchen of Salute in Gulfport, Miss., freshly cooked healthy meals are being prepared for distribution, but not for customers dining in, according to WLOX. Instead, the meal prep service helps people enjoy a stress free, healthy meal, at their convenience. Salute is working closely with Memorial Hospital to supply healthy meals to patients and healthcare workers to enjoy while tirelessly working long shifts.

For the last two years, Salute’s meal prep service catered to personal orders, but now thanks to the partnership with Memorial Hospital, Salute hopes that these fresh meals will help even more people modify their diets.
