What started as an initiative in one state is expanding into a national effort to ensure emergency power resiliency at critical healthcare facilities, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.
Powered for Patients, formed after Hurricane Sandy, was created to help safeguard backup power and expedite power restoration for hospitals.

Based on that experience, Powered for Patients is working to create protocols for information sharing among hospitals, governments and utilities.
