An expansion of the Latrobe Regional Hospital in Victoria, Australia, will double the size of the emergency room and add two new two-story buildings, according to an article on the Latrobe Valley Express.
The new 29-bed emergency department will be up from 12 beds, and there will be a 12-bed short stay unit for ED patients waiting to be transferred to a ward.
There also would be two new 32-bed wards.
The hospital secured $73 million for the expansion in last year's state budget.
