A California hospital held ransom highlights healthcare as a vulnerable cyber target, according to an article on the JD Supra website.

Facility management can improve their decision-making and potential crisis outcomes by coming up with a plan in advance

On February 5, hackers used malware to infect the computers at Hollywood Presbyterian Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, took control of the computer systems and demanded a ransom. 

The ransomware attack lasted a little over one week, causing, among other things, emergency patients to be diverted, patients needing imaging or lab work to be transferred to other facilities, and staff to work from limited medical records and document by paper.
