Hospital increases security after woman pushed down stairs

Attack part of theft, purse-snatching on HealthAlliance Leominster, Mass., campus


A woman was pushed down a flight of stairs during a purse-snatching at HealthAlliance Hospital's campus in Leominster, Mass., according to an article on the Nashoba Publishing website.

The thief also got away with prescription medicines, according to the article.

The hospital boosted security and awareness of potential risk in the hours after the attack, said Director of Public Safety and Emergency Manager Scott Martin.

The hospital added security staff and made hourly sweeps of the facility. In addition, memos were sent to all hospital employees offering escorts to their cars, the article said.
