Hospital launches sustainable food program

Yale-New Haven Hospital starts Hospital Wrap!, a program that recovers food that has been prepared but not served and donates it to those in need

Yale-New Haven Hospital recently started Hospital Wrap!, a sustainability program that recovers food that has been prepared but not served and donates it to those in need throughout the South Central Connecticut area, according to an article on the Yale-New Haven Hospital website.

YNHH will donate food to several local groups. The hospital will also eventually provide these organizations with support to help decrease landfill use.

"This program is an obvious win for all involved. Area agencies receive much-needed food donations which helps their clients in need and YNHH reduces waste while sharing a very valuable asset with the community," said Richard D'Aquila, president and chief operating officer, YNHH.
