Hospital serves waffles recalled for listeria at nurse appreciation breakfast
Forrest General Hospital management immediately notified the nurses who ate the waffles
Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Miss., served waffles recalled for listeria at a nurse appreciation breakfast, according to an article on the WDA website.
Some Aunt Jemima brand frozen products — pancakes, waffles and French toast — were recalled because they may be contaminated.
According to a hospital statement, the facility immediately notified the nurses who ate the waffles.
“Infection Control was immediately contacted, and nurse managers were called together to begin the process for notifying the employees who had eaten the waffles. This unfortunate situation was not due to anything within the control of Forrest General, and we sincerely hope that no one becomes ill. However, employees may visit our Employee Health clinic for testing and treatment free of charge."
No waffles were served to patients.
