Ben Taub Hospital calls off attempts to evacuate patients after a series of delays


Ben Taub Hospital, one of Houston's largest public safety-net hospitals, called off attempts to evacuate patients after a series of delays. according to an article on the Chron website.

Ben Taub officials asked regional emergency coordinators to evacuate the hospital after a pipe burst in the basement of the facility.

The rush of water contaminated the hospital's food supply, closed its pharmacy and damaged medical supplies.

Decisions about the ongoing hospital evacuations happening across the Houston area are being made by Catastrophic Medical Operations Center, part of the Southeast Texas Regional Advisory Council.
