The cost of well-chosen flooring may only be 2 to 5 percent of a healthcare facility's construction budget, but if that floor fails the costs can climb as high as 10 to 15 percent, according to an article on the FacilityCare website.

To ensure you get the best install, hire only qualified and certified installers.

Ask if they've passed an installation training course from the material manufacturer and if they can they provide a list of references.

There are many different variables during the construction process that can affect the performance of the flooring material, so bring your supplier to the table during the specification or construction document process.
