IDC MarketScape names Emerson Network Power a leader again in analysis of data center infrastructure management vendors

Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and the world’s leading provider of critical infrastructure for information and communications technology systems, has been recognized for the second time as a leader in data center infrastructure management (DCIM) according to the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Data Center Infrastructure Management 2015 Vendor Analysis[1].

Emerson Network Power also received a leadership ranking in the previous release of the report.  The IDC MarketScape evaluated leading DCIM vendors on 30 specific elements of capabilities and strategy. Emerson Network Power’s DCIM offerings, including flagship solution, the Trellis™ platform, led for functionality, integration capabilities, scalability, innovation, cost management strategy, customer service strategy and pricing model.

“Emerson Network Power continues to execute on its DCIM strategy, transitioning its installed base to the Trellis platform to fully leverage DCIM functionality from the ground up,” said Jennifer Koppy, research manager at IDC. “Through this process, Emerson has grown from its roots as a critical facilities equipment provider, learned the nuances required of a successful software and services provider, and emerged as one of the leading DCIM solutions on the market today with customers spanning from midsized internal/enterprise data centers to large service provider data centers.”

The IDC MarketScape recognized Emerson Network Power’s improved DCIM portfolio, leveraging its expertise in critical infrastructure systems to engineer a solution—the Trellis platform—that successfully applies software and services capabilities to optimize today’s increasingly intelligent infrastructure systems. The IDC MarketScape also recognized the scalable nature of Emerson Network Power’s DCIM portfolio—allowing businesses to choose DCIM bundles that meet the specific needs of the organization while allowing for future growth. The result is an intuitive, scalable solution that ensures IT becomes and remains a critical business asset.

“The IDC MarketScape’s evaluation of our DCIM portfolio and its place in today’s market is objective validation of our strategy and of the Trellis platform,” said Enzo Greco, vice president and general manager of software for Emerson Network Power. “Because of the pace of innovation in and around the data center, our customers value flexibility and scalability above all. Our solutions deliver on those fronts with best-in-class monitoring, management and predictive capabilities for data centers of all shapes and sizes.”
