Rush Oak Park Hospital, in Oak Park, Ill., unveiled its new $30 million, 55,000 square-foot emergency department, according to an article on the Chicago Tribune website.
The building is LEED-certified and includes an 11,000-square-foot green roof.
In total, the hospital encompasses 55,000 square feet of space, with 22,000 square feet devoted to the new emergency department. It replaces the hospital’s original emergency department that was built in 1969.
Hospital officials said 92 percent of the debris collected from its construction was recycled.
