Indian college to host meeting on hospital safety

The conference will explore standard, contemporary and futuristic approaches to create a safe environment at hospitals for patients and healthcare workers

The Christian Medical College in Tamilnadu, India, is organizing a two-day national-level conference on ‘Hospital Safety and Occupational Health,' according to an article on the New Indian Express website.

The conference will explore standard, contemporary and futuristic approaches to create a safe environment at hospitals for patients and healthcare workers. The event would deal with eight modules with special reference to occupational health, infection control, patient safety, fire, radiation, electrical and medical devices, infrastructure and environment safety, the article said.

The participants will be addressed by doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, safety officers, quality managers, engineers, technicians and students, from across India.

“This platform will bring together experts, professionals and trainees to share their knowledge and experience on various safety measures in the hospital," Dr Sunil Chandy, director of the CMC, said in the article.
