Indiana facility opens new surgery pavilion

St. Vincent Anderson Regional opens state-of-the-art surgery facility

St. Vincent Anderson Regional in Anderson, Ind., recently opened its state-of-the-art surgery facility, according to an article on the Herald Bulletin website.

Doors open with the wave of a hand to limit the spread of infections and surgery suites have multiple monitors and cameras and special green lighting to reduce glare.

The operating rooms are double the size of the hospital’s old rooms.

The surgery pavilion was equipped with a number of features to make surgery safer, to assist physicians and staff in providing the optimal surgical techniques more efficiently, and to provide a comfortable and compassionate experience and healing environment, according to hospital officials.

The 45,000-square-foot facility cost $27 million to build and two years to complete.
