Lifeline Express is the world's first hospital-train, according to a slideshow on the Economic Times website. Established in 1991, the train — equipped with a state-of-the-art operating room — has travelled across India to bring medical aid to inaccessible rural areas.
The train is the result of a partnership between the Impact India Foundation and Indian Railways.
