InstaMed-DocuTAP Partnership Improves the Patient and Provider Experience for Urgent Care Centers

InstaMed, healthcare’s most trusted payments network, announced today a partnership with DocuTAP, one of the nation's fastest growing healthcare technology companies and provider of electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management (PM) software for urgent care clinics, to benefit urgent care centers across the U.S. by improving patient collections and simplifying the healthcare payments process. This partnership delivers integrated payment processing for their mutual customers. Increases in workflow efficiency plus new functionality create a better experience for staff and patients alike.

With InstaMed, payments from the front office, back office and online automatically post directly into DocuTAP, eliminating duplicate effort. Clinics can conveniently deliver an electronic receipt to the patient at the time of payment and can also store a patient’s card on file for future copayments or payments to their account. This helps clinic staff save on both paper costs and time spent on manual processing while meeting patient expectations for an electronic payment experience. Additional benefits include a user-friendly reporting system that keeps providers up to date on their payment processing.

Coming soon, the InstaMed patient payment integration will include the InstaMed Auto Payment CollectTM solution, which will allow DocuTAP users to automatically collect a payment by securely saving a payment method on file before or during a patient visit. Urgent care centers have a special need for payment options like Auto Payment Collect that offer payment assurance with patients who are not recurring visitors. Additionally, Auto Payment Collect reduces the costs to collect by suppressing statement printing and eliminating print and postage costs.

“Urgent care clinics exist in a fast-paced world and are continuously looking for new ways to save time and improve efficiency,” said Eric McDonald, CEO, Founder, DocuTAP. “Through this new partnership with healthcare payments leader InstaMed, we’re excited to be able to deliver a better overall payment processing experience to our customers that will help their clinics run more efficiently. As the needs of the on-demand care space continue to evolve, so too will our partnership with InstaMed to develop new integrations and innovations for urgent care clinics.”

Integra Urgent Care, LLC, a walk-in medical clinic with various locations in Texas, utilizes the InstaMed and DocuTAP integration. “We enjoy the ability of InstaMed to integrate seamlessly with DocuTAP to provide a smooth solution for patients and staff alike to handle credit card payments. It is a simple and much more secure approach to accepting credit cards for payments whether it be in the clinic or online for patient balances,” said Amit Gupta, President at Integra Urgent Care, LLC. “The daily reporting from InstaMed is a great feature that allows us to stay up to date on how much we are processing between multiple clinics each day, and the overall reporting structure for this platform is more user-friendly than previous processors that our company has used. InstaMed has been a positive integration for our company, and we are happy to continue our partnership with them as more features become available."

“Providers in the urgent care space have an especially difficult time collecting patient payments due to the lack of recurring patient visits,” said Chris Seib, CTO of InstaMed. “The integration between InstaMed and DocuTAP enables providers to utilize payment solutions like Auto Payment Collect to streamline payment collections and deliver great experiences for staff and patients. We value our partnership with DocuTAP and look forward to continued innovation in healthcare payments.”
