Iqarus Acquires RS Occupational Health

Global remote healthcare and medical solutions company Iqarus has acquired RS Occupational Health (RSOH) as part of its dynamic strategy to expand its UK and North Sea business. The acquisition demonstrates Iqarus’ commitment to continuously innovate and invest to improve the quality and sophistication of remote healthcare solutions available to the global market.

RSOH, a UK occupational healthcare provider, offers medical assessments, sickness absence reviews, pre-employment medical assessments, travel health and health surveillance across the construction, engineering, manufacturing, oil and gas and public sectors. RSOH has invested in technology-enabled clinic management services which will enhance the improvements Iqarus has already made to quality and clinic management.

Iqarus, a global provider of intelligent health solutions in remote and difficult operating environments, has a robust growth strategy including acquisitions and aggressive organic expansion. Since entering the market, Iqarus has worked closely with its clients to improve and evolve the way in which remote medical services are delivered, and has invested heavily in technology to project advanced, data driven health support solutions into the world’s most challenging environments.

Tim Mitchell, CEO of Iqarus, said that the acquisition would strengthen Iqarus’ position in the market and provide enhanced service delivery to a diversified customer portfolio.

He commented: “Our vision for Iqarus is to transform the provision of healthcare services in remote and difficult operating environments. By acquiring RSOH, we are bringing together two of the most innovative players in the market. We are combining the best of both businesses to create a clear market leader in service expertise and technology-led solutions. RSOH has a strong track-record in delivering enhanced technology-led services for clients which is a core part of our service offering.”

RSOH launched in 1999 and was acquired by Houston-based DISA Global Solutions Inc in 2014. RSOH has developed a Comprehensive Online Medical Management System (COMMS), which provides digital pre-medical questionnaires. COMMS also automatically generates digital medical certificates for clients, allowing employers immediate access to up-to-date records.

Mark Mayo, CFO of DISA Global Solutions Inc said: “Following the recent acquisition of DISA by Court Square Capital Partners, we are focussing on our core strategy within the North American market.  We are proud of what RSOH has accomplished in the UK, and are happy to see the business become part of such a dynamic and well capitalised organisation as Iqarus.”

Iqarus was formed last year by a management team led by CEO Tim Mitchell and backed by MML Capital Partners. Iqarus aims to become the leading international provider of healthcare solutions in remote and difficult environments through a combination of strategic acquisitions and aggressive organic growth.

To date, Iqarus has acquired and integrated the former Energy Medical Services division of Capita plc, with a 40-year history of delivering medical services to the energy sector in the North Sea, C-Chec, a world-leading occupational hygiene consultancy which delivers environmental sciences consultancy in tandem with medical and health provision, and Exmed, leaders in remote medical support, equipment and clinical education.

Iqarus customers include global energy companies, international governmental and humanitarian agencies, and media organisations. Iqarus supports medical missions and operations in locations as diverse as the North Sea, Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Siberia.
