JE Dunn Construction has been awarded the$50 million, 64,420-square-foot hospital modernization facility to support the 99th Medical Group at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada as well as the $30 million Guthrie Ambulatory Health Care Clinic HVAC Replacement, supporting the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York. The firm is making its mark in the military market. JE Dunn is partnered with Leawood, Kan. based architecture firm - Hoefer Wysocki for both projects.
JE Dunn and Hoefer Wysocki Architects have designed and constructed nearly $800 million in healthcare facilities at more than 13 military installations across the nation over the past ten years to support the U.S. Air Force Healthcare Facilities Modernization Program, a federal government program that allows the team to compete for the design and construction of healthcare facilities across the country at active military installations against a select pool of qualified teams.
The Nellis Air Force Base hospital project includes the modernization of multiple buildings: the Mike O’Callaghan Federal Medical Center, the Medical Logistics Warehouse, and the Medical Annex. The contract includes outfitting the building with furnishings and equipment. The design-build project will be designed to achieve LEED Silver. Design and construction will take 38 months.
Project components include emergency expansion and associated site work, dining facility, Tricare Operations and Patient Administration (TOPA), logistics, laboratory, family health clinic, public/community health, information management/information technology (IMT), resource management office (RMO), and miscellaneous common areas.

The Guthrie Clinic project at Fort Drum includes a multi-phased construction solution for the complete HVAC replacement to bring the equipment and configuration up to code and provide better comfort to the facility. Construction will take 38 months.
