The Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, built a joint and spine center that emphasizes patient comfort, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.
Patient rooms have wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling frosted and clear glass, and patients are given electronic control of drapes that provide interior and exterior privacy if needed, the article said.
An entertainment and information system, residential-style bathrooms with full-size showers and vanities, and flexible seating were included to offer some comforts of home.
Family and staff spaces adjoin window walls and have views of a landscaped central courtyard and downtown Cincinnati.
