Norton Healthcare and Jewish Hospital delayed surgeries recently after a water main break in Shelby Park, Ky., caused low water pressure at the downtown hospitals, according to an article on the Courier-Journal website.
Patients were given bottled water and used hand sanitizer after washing their hands.
Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital and Our Lady of Peace Hospital reduced water consumption, but patient procedures were unaffected.
"Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our patients, we have delayed elective surgeries," said Joe Hall, a Norton spokesman, in a statement.
