Mobile device issues, ransomeware and cloud based-data breaches are a few of the cybersecurity threats healthcare facilities face in 2019, according to an article on the Healthcare IT News website.

In addition to securing mobile devices, connected devices like medical equipment and other web-connected elements can be weak security endpoints and need to be properly secured and updated at all times, the article said.

Security risks are major considerations for the IT staff and a major challenge of operating healthcare IT workloads in the cloud.

Ransomware also is expected to be a major information security threat to healthcare in 2019. Most ransomware is launched through phishing, a tactic that tricks people into allowing access into networks.
