Kingspan Introduces GreenGuard XPS Products in New Thicknesses and for the Commercial Roofing Market

Kingspan Insulation continues to expand its GreenGuard extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation board product offering with additional thicknesses of 3 inches and 4 inches in select 25, 40 and 60 psi compressive strength boards, and a new 4-sided routed drainage channel board. The new products help to round out Kingspan’s GreenGuard line in commercial markets such as roofing, cold storage, and various below grade and vertical wall applications.

“Kingspan now has a complete line of GreenGuard extruded polystyrene products to fully service the commercial PMR (Protected Membrane Roofing) market. Whether you have a roof covering of flat pavers, pedestal pavers, ballast or a vegetative system - Kingspan offers XPS solutions for all of these applications, complete with an industry-leading thermal and wind uplift warranty,” said Craig Lynch, Commercial / Technical Director, Kingspan Insulation North America.

The new GreenGuard XPS Drainage Channel Board is for use in protected membrane roof assemblies requiring 40 psi or 60 psi minimum compressive strength and drainage channels. Drainage channels are cut along all 4 sides of the board at .5 inches deep and .25 inches wide. When placed facing down in a protected membrane roof assembly (PMRA), channels permit drainage of water that seeps through to the roof membrane.

Ryan Sullivan, Managing Director, Kingspan Insulation North America commented, “Kingspan is committed to being a key partner to our customers by providing excellence in service and a full extruded polystyrene product range. We will continue to enhance and expand our GreenGuard XPS product portfolio in 2018 with the increased capacity of our new, state-of-the-art manufacturing line.”

Kingspan GreenGuard XPS Insulation Board offers an R-value of 5.0 per inch of thickness. The product retains its insulating properties over time, has high water resistance and is HCFC free. GreenGuard XPS Insulation Board is available in 2x8-foot and 4x8-foot boards in selected thicknesses ranging from one-half inch to 4 inches in various compressive strengths such as 25, 40 and 60 psi.
