Larson Electronics LLC Releases Towable Diesel-Powered Telescoping Light Tower Package

Industrial lighting leader, Larson Electronics LLC, has engineered a new towable telescoping LED light tower powered by a 7,500-watt water-cooled diesel engine. This light tower deploys two 15—watt LED lamps that illuminate 6-7 acres with 40,500 lumens continuously for more than 50 hours, without refueling. This package is suitable for use in remote locations, such as temporary camps, construction sites, military bases and areas without reliable access to the grid.

The WCDE-4-2X150LTL-LED mobile light tower assembly is supported by a 4-cycle, water-cooled, Kubota Z482 EPA Tier 4 diesel engine. This robust engine generates 7.5kW during prime use, with speeds of 3,600 rpm for quiet operation and greater reliability. This engine features key operated electric starting, a full 12-volt electrical system, automatic low oil pressure and high temperature safety shutoffs, dual fuel filters and easy access oil and radiator drain ports to facilitate maintenance. The engine can run for 50 continuous hours without refueling, thanks to a 28-gallon fuel tank. A four wire hook up with external grounding allows both electrical and mechanical safe grounding systems to be set up.

This portable light tower system has a 360º telescopic boom that extends up to 25 feet with the use of a manual, self-braking winch. A four-point outrigger system helps stabilize the boom, allowing it to withstand 50 mph winds at maximum height. The lighting system includes two, 150-watt LED lamps that produce 40,500 total lumens of wide flood light over 6-7 acres. Housing for all the operating components is 14-gauge steel, designed to provide airflow for cooling, and the telescoping boom is constructed of corrosion-resistant aluminum. The entire assembly is mounted on a two-wheel steel trailer with a 2,200 lb. leaf spring axle.

“This diesel engine light tower is a great option for remote locations that need powerful illumination in locations where grid power is not reliable or continuously available,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “The rugged build, mobility and high light output makes this unit great for mining, construction or even large-scale events.”
