A $2 million renovation at Laurel Brook Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and recognition as one of New Jersey’s “Best Nursing Homes 2020” in Newsweek signal the dedication to quality services and patient care at the 220-bed skilled nursing facility in Mount Laurel.
Newsweek, in partnership with global data research firm Statista Inc., recently established its “Best Nursing Homes” ranking, analyzing over 15,000 nursing homes in
the U.S. According to Newsweek, the 65+ demographic will account for more than 20% of U.S. residents by 2030, and studies say that 70% of that population will need some type of long-term care.
The recognition comes as renovation work at Laurel Brook has reached the halfway mark. The physical improvements involve a head-to-toe update. Among the highlights is the construction of a 3,000-square-foot therapy gym with state-of-the-art equipment. The renovation also includes updates to all common areas, private suites in the facility’s subacute rehab wing, long-term care floor, and outdoor courtyard.
Laurel Brook continues to incorporate specialized programming developed with Marquis Health Services in partnership with area medical providers and hospitals. This includes its cardiac program for acute and chronic disease management, which is being overseen by Virtua Lourdes Cardiology Services. Laurel Brook has partnered with Virtua Lourdes Senior Services in the offering of on-campus physician attending services for Laurel Brook patients. Additionally, Laurel Brook has enhanced its chronic kidney disease management program, which offers on-campus hemodialysis services, routine nephrology oversight and consultative visits.
Located at 3718 Church Road, Laurel Brook provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab, memory care, long-term and respite care, and features a popular, dedicated Korean Community wing. The facility has earned a deficiency-free survey from the New Jersey Department of Health, and secured certification from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
