Lawsuit linking sixth death to UPMC mold names third facility

A third wrongful death lawsuit was filed in connection to a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center mold outbreak


A third wrongful death lawsuit was filed in connection to a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) mold outbreak, according to an article on the CNN website.

This is the latest death linked to heavy mold growth found in the linens at two UPMC hospitals.

The lawsuit alleges that a third UPMC facility, Shadyside Hospital, is a part of the outbreak. 

Paris Companies was contracted to provide linens for all three of the hospitals.
