Littelfuse to Host Free Webcast on Arc-Flash Safety


Littelfuse, Inc., a global manufacturer of leading technologies in circuit protection and power control, invites plant engineers, facility managers, and maintenance professionals to join our special electrical safety month webcast. Learn about arc-flash mitigation, assessment importance, and IEEE 1584-2018 updates. Littelfuse will also share key findings from their recent survey about whether workers feel arc-flash mitigation is a priority in their workplace, how many have completed an assessment and identified dangerous calorie levels, and more. The webcast will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Central Time.

About the Presenters

Ryan K. Downey, PE, is the Principal Electrical Engineer for AVO Training Institute (www.avotraining.com). His experience includes electrical, controls, and instrumentation design of substations and power distribution systems; power system analysis including short-circuit analysis,

protective device coordination, arc flash hazard/incident energy assessments, and harmonics analysis; grounding and lightning protection systems; and electrical energy audits. He is an active member of the IEEE 1584 Working Group – Guide for Performing Arc-Flash Hazard Calculations, and IEEE 1814 Working Group – Recommended Practice for Electrical System Design Techniques to Improve Electrical Safety.

Richard Dale is an associate product manager with the Littelfuse Industrial Business Unit. He has five years of experience in the electrical industry and received a B.S. in electrical engineering and mathematics and an M.S. in electrical engineering, both from Southern Methodist University. Richard is an active member of IEEE and the Theta Tau professional engineering fraternity.

Dave Scheuerman is the technical training manager with the Littelfuse Industrial Business Unit. He manages Littelfuse University, as well as all aspects of customer, distributor and sales training. Dave holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Purdue University, and has more than 25 years of experience in a variety of sales and marketing roles at Littelfuse. He is also a member of IEEE, NFPA and IAEI.
