Louisville Kindred project design advances

Conditional approval backed for the design of the proposed Kindred Healthcare $36 million

Conditional approval has been recommended for the design of the proposed Kindred Healthcare $36 million project in Louisville, Ky., according to an article on the Courier Journal website.

Kindred announced plans for the project in December. It would house a support center for training, an employee wellness clinic and other operations and be part of Kindred's plan to eventually add about 500 jobs.

The Kindred project includes developing a plaza around the new building and tearing down two existing buildings.

The new building will feature some outdoor green space, some public art work and a wall that features cascading water on the north boundary of the property. The new structure will also have a "green roof" to conserve energy.
