Louisville children's hospital replacing McDonald's with Au Bon Pain

Norton Children's Hospital makes change to promote patient health

Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky., is replacing McDonald's with Au Bon Pain to promote patient health, according to an article on the Courier-Journal website.

McDonald's had been in the healthcare facility for 30 years. Au Bon Pain was selected for "healthy options," according to a hospital statement.

In severing ties with McDonald's, Norton is the 12th hospital nationwide to ban fast food, according to Corporate Accountability International, a nonprofit based in Boston.

This fall, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's "Nix The Nuggets" billboard advertising campaign around Louisville's downtown medical complex criticized McDonald's continued presence at the hospital.
