Luxaire expands its Eclipse rooftop replacement solution with a new packaged heat pump that features advanced control technology

The Luxaire brand of Johnson Controls is expanding its Eclipse rooftop replacement solution with the addition of a new heat pump. Available in 3- to 8.5-ton capacities, the heat pump saves contractors time with an exact-fit footprint and advanced control technology that contribute to easy installation, setup and maintenance.

The exact-fit replacement design matches heat pumps and all units in the Luxaire rooftop replacement solution to other manufacturers’ units and reduces installation time, cost and complexity by eliminating the need for a curb adapter.

Simplicity Smart Equipment (SE) Controls also contribute to system setup, optimization and monitoring that is far easier than older, electromechanical controls. This next generation control system is a standard feature on all Eclipse gas/electric, electric/electric and heat pump packaged and commercial split system configurations.

The system’s advanced design also offers an optional Mobile Access Portal (MAP) Gateway that provides access to the SE control system using a smartphone, tablet, laptop or remote PC. An optional Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) saves contractors time by providing detailed alerts if issues arise, and quick ship options improve product availability.

Additional features of the new heat pumps include adjustable defrost and three heat capacities, two cabinet heights and footprint sizes and a choice of cooling or electric heat configurations.
