Carroll Hospital in Westminster, Md., has added four emergency department senior care suites designed to make older patients more comfortable, according to an article on the Carroll County Times website.
The rooms will feature softer mattresses and lighting and are located in a relatively quiet wing of the emergency department.
When the suites open, Carrollwill be one of only three Maryland hospitals with such facilities.
All 40 beds in emergency department are private rooms, according to Reid, but none feature bathrooms. The new suites have bedside commodes.
