Countryside Health Care of Milford will construct a 261 kilowatt rooftop solar array on the rehabilitation facility, according to an article on the Milford Daily News website.
The new system will provide clean energy while decreasing the town's carbon footprint.
Countryside Health Care entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) under which Solect Energy owns and operates the solar array, and sells the power generated back to the organization at a reduced, fixed rate for a period of 20 years.
"The agreement and innovation will have a game-changing impact as its the first municipal building in our community to go solar," said a Milford official.
