Mediware releases robust rehabilitation scheduling solution: MediLinks AE

LENEXA, Kan.- Mediware Information Systems, Inc., a provider of comprehensive healthcare IT software solutions, announces the release of its newest rehab scheduling solution, MediLinks(TM) AE. The scheduling software, which can be used on a stand-alone basis or as a module of the MediLinks Rehab suite of products, streamlines patient scheduling and provides benefits to front desk staff, therapists and patients.

The scheduling module is designed for use in inpatient and outpatient rehab therapy settings and is built on the same platform as Mediware's Appointments Everywhere solution. The development of this new functionality is consistent with Mediware's previously announced plan to invest heavily in the functionality of the MediLinks software system.

"The MediLinks software will benefit from having many of the rich scheduling features of our market leading Appointments Everywhere scheduling software. In fact, with this scheduling component, the MediLinks software is an optimal rehabilitation therapy solution for any IRF or outpatient rehab hospital setting," said Stuart Foster, GM for Rehabilitation and Respiratory Solutions at Mediware. "We will continue to invest in our products so our clients have the best user experience and the greatest tools at their disposal. We believe using the MediLinks software gives providers tools to improve patient outcomes."

With MediLinks AE, scheduling is done on-the-fly and in real-time, streamlining the process for small, medium and large multi-departmental facilities. Therapists or front office staff can schedule patients in seconds with drag-and-drop functionality, and then see the daily, weekly or monthly view of the schedule. Recurring appointments, waitlists and recall lists are done with a click of a mouse. In addition, patient reminders by text, email or phone reduce no-show and cancellation rates at outpatient facilities. The solution lets providers color-code appointments by procedure, facility or diagnosis, which improves efficiency through the entire department. The scheduling grid is designed specifically for the needs of PTs, OTs and SLPs, but is easily customizable for any hospital setting.

MediLinks AE for Inpatient tracks and monitors 3 Hour Rule compliance, ensuring patients are treated within the required CMS guidelines. On the outpatient side, the rate of no-shows and cancellations greatly improves with patient reminders. MediLinks AE also includes wait lists and recall lists to ensure schedules are full.

MediLinks AE is part of the full MediLinks Outpatient and Inpatient suite. It's also available as a standalone solution for outpatient facilities. Visit www.mediware.com/rehabilitation to schedule a demo or get pricing.
