St. Joseph's Hospital adds dogs to help keep patients safe and calm


 

Dogs are being added to security teams across the country and St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee is now using them to keep patients and visitors safe and comfortable, according to an article on the TMJ4 website.

For instance, if there was an abandoned bag in the lobby or possibly a suspicious item, the dog can help security officers check the item.

The dog at St. Joseph's is also there to make people feel more comfortable.

To see a dog that's relaxed and keeping its composure provides kind of a calming environment, according to a hospital official.
