Many healthcare facilities don't take advantage of mobile solutions for emergency management


Most healthcare organizations have embraced mobile technology for operational and healthcare needs, but don't take advantage of mobile solutions for emergency management, according to an article on the FacilityCare website.

While healthcare facilities develop emergency preparedness and response plans, most of these are paper-based with very few having online access.

Mobile technology can help create emergency plans that can be communicated through a secure mobile device.

For example, hospital operations and risk managers developing safety contingency plans to manage a viral outbreak can direct various staff and healthcare workers on the proper procedures for receiving and triaging patients, managing overload and submitting proper reports via a mobile device, the article said.
