Morbern introduces first FR-free product

Morbern, the leader in decorative vinyl upholstery for hospitality, healthcare and contract markets, introduces the Bloom Collection, the company’s first FR-free vinyl. Morbern is the first manufacturer to bring an FR-free vinyl to the commercial interiors market.

“Bloom is customer driven,” said Morbern Vice President of Sales Doug McClendon. “The needs of the architecture and design community are constantly changing, and Bloom provides a solution for their current challenge to find FR-free materials.”

Bloom is anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, with a stain-resistant finish and enhanced abrasion resistance (no wear at 100,000 double rubs) to meet the demands of high-traffic interiors. It meets the flammability requirements of CA TB 117-2013, UFAC Class 1, BIFMA Class A and NFPA 260A.

“Customers asked for an FR-free product last fall, and within six months, we have it in production,” said McClendon. “It’s the fastest product turnaround in company history.”

Bloom features Morbern’s exclusive MGX MorGuard Xtreme stain-resistant and cleanable topcoat that protects against, and easily cleans, the toughest soiling agents including denim, mustard, marker and ball point pen. Most stains can be effortlessly cleaned using warm, soapy water and clear water rinses.

The Bloom Collection is available in three patterns (City, Radio, Holly) and eleven colors ranging from graphic black and white to colorful blues, yellow, red and green.
