NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) Hospital's newest ambulatory care center, The David H. Koch Center, was designed with technology to cut patient stress and wait times, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.
The design team looked for ways to create a calming experience. For instance, patients can bypass a traditional check-in by completing paperwork before their visit via the NYP mobile app or online.
Once they arrive, patients are offered a personalized smart band that provides access to the building and rooms they will need to enter during their visit.
The app also gives instructions about the visit and step-by-step directions to exam prep and recovery rooms.
