Namibian healthcare 'spotless' after national cleanup

Roads, schools, clinics, hospitals and open-spaces at villages, towns and cities were spruced up in the campaign


Floors at the Katutura Referral Hospital in Windhoek, Namibia, were gleaming as a result of a nationwide clean-up campaign, according to an article on the New Era website.

Roads, schools, clinics, hospitals, open-spaces at villages, towns and cities were swept clean in a campaign that involved President Hage Geingob, ministers, teachers, doctors, students, government officials and others who pitched in to clean up the country.

Hospital superintendent Dr Fady Ashmawy said he was proud of the cleanliness and the freshness of the air permeating the hospital’s corridors.

Ashmawy said the clean-up campaign was voluntary but that many nurses, doctors, cleaners and other auxiliary staff took their free time and participated.
