The VA hospitals in Middle Tennessee have added germ-zapping robots to their fight fight against drug-resistant superbugs, according toan article on the Nashville Public Radio website.
With two robots at the Nashville campus and another pair at the Murfreesboro campus, the machines hit a collective 27 rooms a day on average.
The robots are the first at VA hospitals in Tennessee, according to a spokesperson, and some of the only ones at any hospital in the Nashville area.
Studies have found the VA to be more aggressive at controlling infection rates than other large hospital systems.
