New ER model means less cost and shorter visit

ZOOM+ Super ER concept is meant to reduce unnecessary hospitalizations

The ZOOM+ Super ER concept in Portland, Ore., was designed to to radically reduce unnecessary hospitalizations, according to an article on the Forbes website.

The facility is designed to be pleasant for the board-certified ER doctors, which  leads to a better patient experience and improved outcomes, according to the article.

ZOOM+ Super is a 4,500-square-foot facility with seven emergency rooms. A member/patient can give the facility a heads-up that they are on their way in. Using geo-fencing technology, screens recognize when a patient arrives at the facility.

When people arrive, they are led to a Super Room with wifi, TV, a comfortable space for accompanying friends or family, and a white board where their ER doctor outlines a plan. Rooms feature scenic Hood River wallpaper designed to lower blood pressure.
